The designer says "busy humans and bored cats may finally be able to coexist peacefully". I look at the word "peaceful" next to the picture of a desk designed to let a bored cat disembowel me for fun and wonder what they are thinking.

It gets better— the guy is deaf, and he taught his cat the sign for “food.” So the cat’s not just saying “put that in my mouth,” it’s actually signing

I have read more than once that cats learn aural communication methods from humans, so why not this? (If anyone can scrounge more detail on this I'd be fascinated to read it.)

(Yes, it's another BBC cat story. No, I don't post *nearly* all of them, there are scads, if they got their own page BBC Cat would have more stories than BBC Cymru!)
